The total neutron cross sections of samarium highly enriched in the ¹⁴⁷Sm and ¹⁵⁰Sm isotopes have been measured from 0.01 eV to 1.2 keV. Thermal neutron cross sections and resonance parameters were extracted, and the S-wave strength functions and capture resonance integrals were calculated. Corrections for paramagnetic and small angle scattering were applied to the thermal-neutron cross sections in order to obtain thermal absorption cross sections. The following results were obtained:
