An epoxy solidification method was developed and tested for volume reduction, homogeneity, and acceptance criteria such as leaching characteristics and compressive strength. It satisfied the acceptance criteria and confirmed excellent performance in terms of volume reduction and homogenization. An epoxy solidification system was developed to treat radioactive spent resins arising in nuclear power plants. The automated epoxy solidification system also minimizes the exposure of workers to radiation. And since it is solidified in a general drum size, it can be stably treated even with a general drum, thereby reducing the disposal cost to lower than a high-integrity container.
