An Empirical Calculational Procedure for Beta-Particle Escape Efficiency in Delayed Self-Powered Neutron Detectors

An empirical formula for predicting beta-particle escape efficiency in delayed self-powered neutron detectors is derived. This formula depends on emitter density, diameter, and beta-particle energy. The results obtained with this empirical formula agree well with those found in the literature.
