Experience with the On-Line Core Master Monitoring and Predicting System at Kernkraftwerk Leibstadt

An on-line core supervision system, “CORE MASTER,” has been installed at the boiling water reactor (BWR)-6 plant of Kernkraftwerk Leibstadt. The system, based on the three-dimensional nodal simulator PRESTO, has been a valuable support tool for on-line core monitoring and tracking of thermal margins, predictive calculations, and on-line data management and display.
