Environmental Effects on a Pressure-Activated Switch

Environmental effects of temperature and pressure on the set point of a Bourdon-tube-type pressure switch are studied. Data show that an increase in pressure increases the set point linearly while an increase in temperature decreases the set point in a nonlinear way. Design engineers should consider both effects.
