It is well recognized that scattered neutrons cause serious image degradation in thermal-neutron radiography of hydrogenous objects. If these scattered neutrons are removed from the neutron beam before it strikes the image record-ing medium, both image contrast and resolution will be enhanced. A method of quantifying the contrast enhancement is illustrated with various antiscatter grid configurations.
