A unique data acquisition and process control system was designed for the generation of creep constitutive equations. The system is capable of measuring and recording very small rapidly changing strains during primary creep as well as the very large strains in tertiary creep. The data are automatically reduced to equations relating stress, strain, temperature, and time which can be put directly into nonlinear finite element stress analysis programs.
