The Utility of Ice Cubes as an Absorbent for Gaseous Fission Products

Ice cubes, which were made using a base-borate solution containing 1 wt% Na2S2O3, were found to be ∼100 efficient in removing I2 from an I2-air stream, but neither additive was found to be effective for trapping CH3I if the water was in the form of ice cubes.
