Gamma-ray buildup factors, both exposure (dose) and energy absorption, were calculated for sand (SiO₂), air (N₇₈O₂₂), and cellulose or wood (C₆H₁₀O₅). A moments method program coded for the CDC-1604 computer was the principal computing device used.
