A system for neutron activation analysis using an Sb:Be neutron source and an on-line PDP-9 computer is described. The irradiation of samples in a flux of 6 × 108 n/(cm2 sec) and the counting of samples with Ge(Li) detectors are controlled by the computer. The system is controlled either manually or automatically for routine analysis of many samples. The program allows the determination of the intensity and energy of gamma rays. It also displays and plots spectra and stores them on magnetic “Dectape.”
