A kinetics study has been made of the chemical factors that affect the rate of absorption of CH₃I by aqueous sprays. The results suggest that the addition of certain transition metal complexes which promote singlet to triplet electronic transitions in CH₃I materially improve the latter’s absorption rate by standard borated water droplets.
