The SSTG steam generator simulation model has been developed by the University of Hong Kong for pressurized water reactor training simulators. Two-phase thermal-hydraulic models have been developed to simulate various physical phenomena such as boiling heat transfer and phase slip in the steam generator. To validate their accuracy, a turbine trip test is simulated. The calculational results are compared with the Electric Power Research Institute’s Arkansas Nuclear One Unit 2 turbine trip test data, and the results are found to be reasonably satisfactory.
