Nowadays, it is essential to save energy. By equipping the various types of power plants with district heating facilities, a major contribution can be rendered in this direction. Nuclear power plants can be provided with means of extracting heat for utilization in district heating schemes. All types of saturated steam cycles for district heating turbines as well as possible turbines for different heat extraction rates are discussed on the basis of a plant with an electrical output of 1000 MW.
