Influence of Deep Minima on Multigroup Cross-Section Generation

It is demonstrated that conventional group constant generation methods can break down for single materials having deep cross-section minima. Implications for the analysis of fast neutron spectra in iron are discussed. A possible resolution of the difficulty based on Bn theory is advanced.
