A simple numerical solution algorithm is used to model rigid body impacts on liquid surfaces. Computed fluid impact loads on right circular cylinders are in excellent agreement with experimental data. Several calculations are performed with varying fluid sheet thicknesses, impact velocities, and cylinder diameters. These calculations verify the scaling ability of the theoretical model and provide insight into how loading histories vary with the configuration of the impacting fluid.
