An approximate expression for the function cosγ, defined by the use of the gamma function of a complex argument, has been developed to economize the computations pertaining to the single- or the multiple-Coulomb scattering of relativistic electrons. The maximum absolute error of the expression is 2.2 × 10⁻⁶.
