A method to test the adequacy of an angular mesh in describing the angular transfer of highly anisotropic elastic scattering (for both neutron or gamma rays) in plane geometry with azimuthal symmetry is presented. Transfer from the straight forward and backward polar directions are found to impose the greatest limitations for an angular mesh.
