The energy spectra of fast neutrons backscattered from aluminum, iron, lead, and Perspex were measured for primary neutron energies of 0.5, 1.0, 1.5, and 1.8 MeV. The energy spectra were obtained as a function of the thickness of the scattering material up to two mean-free-paths. The experimental results are compared with Monte Carlo calculated values.
