A numerical procedure for the calculation of thermal diffusion lengths directly from the formalism of Hurwitz and Nelkin is described. The technique is used to compute diffusion lengths for several plastic moderated assemblies, using the mass 1, free proton energy exchange kernel. Agreement of the calculated diffusion lengths with experiment is excellent.
