The problem of temperature jump, based on the linearized Boltzmann equation and arbitrary gas/surface interaction, is solved using the Sn method and collocation and finite element treatment of the energy (speed) variable. Accurate numerical results for the jump and for the density and temperature profiles are reported for the case of rigid-sphere intermodular interaction and for Maxwell’s diffuse-specular reflection boundary condition.
