Periodicity in Annular Diffuser Flow

Flow oscillations in an annular diffuser can occur which may, if either of the surfaces is free to move, cause severe vibration problems. The nature of the in-stability and the factors affecting it have been experimentally investigated, and a method of reducing or eliminating it has been sought.
