Measurements of the fast neutron scalar fluxdensity spectrum in a large cylinder of lithium irradiated with 14-MeV neutrons were compared with Monte Carlo calculations using group cross sections from the DLC-37 (EPR) library. The calculations underpredict the penetration, as evidenced by a deficiency of neutrons at depth. The reason may be approximations in the treatment of anisotropic scattering in lithium.
