The thermal-neutron capture cross section of Ce140 and its resonance capture integral, measured by an activation method, have been found to be 0.59 ± .06 barns and 0.48 ± .05 barns, respectively. The effective capture cross section of Ce141 in the Materials Testing Reactor was found to be 29 ± 3 barns. This value was determined by mass analysis for the neutron-induced Ce142.
