An original approach to axial offset ratio reconstruction in a pressurized water reactor is presented. The method, based on generalized perturbation theory, permits the definition of a“three-term” sensitivity expression for the ratio, which lends itself to practical application. In a numerical example, the relative weights of the three terms (first-order, higher order correction, and reactivity reset) are evaluated, and a preliminary conclusion on the practical interest of the treatment is drawn.
