Higher Order Variational Principles and Iterative Processes

N-step iterative processes give rise to N-order variational principles. The þ-hyperpower iterative process of Altman and Petryshyn is shown to be equivalent to the þ-order variational principle of Kostin and Brooks. A higher order Chebychev variational principle is derived, which is independent of the normalization of the trial operator.
