The efficiency of four differencing schemes is compared for the two-dimensional neutron transport equation discretized on a mesh grid composed of equilateral triangles. All schemes are implemented into the computer code DIAMANT2 and verified using realistic model problems and check calculations with the TRIPLET code. The most efficient algorithm is chosen to serve as the standard solution procedure in DIAMANT2.
