Integral neutron capture and neutron fission cross sections have been measured for the 276-day 254gEs. Thermal cross sections and resonance integrals were evaluated using a cadmium filter technique. Capture cross sections were determined from alpha-particle spectrum measurements following neutron irradiations with cobalt flux monitors. Fission cross sections were measured using fission track detection techniques with 233U monitors. The fission cross-section values compared favorably with an absorption cross-section determination from a burnout experiment of 253Es-254Es. The integral neutron capture and fission cross sections determined for 254gEs are: = 28.3 ± 2.5 and Ic = 18.2 ± 1.5 b, and = 1970 ± 200 and IF = 1200 ± 250 b.
