The transport of heavy particles produced by the 10B(n,α)Li and 235U(n,νn)ff nuclear reactions in a two-region cylindrical geometry is analyzed. Total spatially dependent energy current, power density, and transport efficiency are calculated. These results are significantly different from what would be predicted using a two-region slab model—the model generally used for kinetic analysis of nuclear-pumped plasmas. The calculated transport efficiency for a 0.4 mg/cm2 10B coating was 9% and 16% for a 3.3 mg/cm2 235UO2 coating.
