Transuranium elements will be produced by long-term neutron irradiation of Pu-Al alloy to produce Pu242, Am243, and Cm244, which will be irradiated in the High Flux Isotope Reactor to produce berkelium, californium, einsteinium, and fermium. Methods based primarily on ion exchange and solvent extraction are outlined for processing both irradiated Pu-Al alloy and irradiated HFIR targets. The calculated content of irradiated Pu242 and Cf252 HFIR targets is given.
