So as to demonstrate the superconducting magnet technology to be developed for construction of the International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor (ITER), model coils were designed and are now being fabricated. For testing of these model coils, a world's largest test facility for superconducting magnets was constructed and its test operations were successfully done. This paper describes the test program of the model coils and performance test results of the test facility to achieve the goals of the test program.
