A Conceptual Design Activity (CDA) for the International Fusion Materials Irradiation Facility (IFMIF) will be completed in December 1996. The IFMIF accelerator system, comprising two 125 mA, 40 MeV deuterium accelerators is a key element of the IFMIF facility. This paper describes the status of the accelerator design as of June, 1996.
