Decay heat is a potentially important energy source in the ITER safety analysis. Decay heat analyses were performed for the ITER shielding and breeding blanket designs using the proposed operational scenarios for the base performance and extended performance phases (BPP and EPP). Decay heat due to operational scenarios deviated from the BPP were also investigated.
