A self sustaining toroidal Z pinch fusion reactor, based on dynamo action energized by fusion produced a particles, is investigated. A zero dimensional power balance equation indicates that a DT reactor of the toroidal current of 24 MA and the plasma radius of 1 m is achievable with realistic plasma parameters and engineering requirements. Studies on advanced DD cases are also done to indicate that a high beta operation is essential.
