Antiprotons have been shown to be a strong source of neutrons and pions, which under conditions of high density, enable a significant reduction in burn time, and hence size, of fissile targets. Tests of antiproton boosted microfission are possible at this time, even with presently limited numbers of antiprotons available. Results of calculations, possible applications and proposed experiments are discussed.
