Energy supply is a vital and, in the long run, an uncertain issue. Given the world population growth, the total energy needs may well increase enormously.

Developing a completely new source of energy such as fusion is a formidable scientific and technological challenge which spans several human generation. How do that for China as developing country?

The aim of the paper is to present the state of the magnetic confinement and fusion fission hybrid reactor project in China.
