Nuclear energy is well suited for baseload electricity generation as well as a broad range of cogeneration and process heat applications that serve to stretch our oil reserves. This paper presents a summary of non-electric applications that range from methanol production to space heating and distinguishes the High Temperature Gas-Cooled Reactor as uniquely suited for the high temperature applications.
