An analytical and a Finite Element (FE) model for eddy current computation on the RFX conductive shell are compared by means of a harmonic analysis. The influence of the basic assumptions of the analytical model is investigated and the criteria for the choice of the FE mesh are presented. The application limits of the models are discussed and their accuracy is assessed by means of experimental measurements on the actual RFX shell.
