We have improved our existing models of microshell formation from solid polymer granules to include radial temperature and volatile component concentration gradients. In addition we have included the effects of polymer decomposition and ablation at elevated furnace temperatures and have shown that these processes act to limit the maximum temperature that the shell can obtain.
