Since July 1990, EG&G Mound has been the tritium sales and distribution office for the U.S. Department of Energy commercial tritium sales program. The transfer of this responsibility from Oak Ridge National Laboratory occurred when rising performance standards within the department dictated the use of facilities which were not readily available at Oak Ridge but which were in place at Mound. Numerous practices used in Mound's tritium operations are described and the first years operation is summarized.
