Neutron multiplication measurement in 20-cm-thick beryllium oxide in rectangular geometry using 14-MeV neutrons has been carried out, and it is found that the experimental value of neutron multiplication is ∼25% lower than the calculated value. This confirms the measurement done earlier with beryllium metal.
