The article provides an overview on the reactorrelevant plasma-material interaction studies in linear plasma devices. The studies contribute to solving critical problems of tokamak-based fusion reactors and are complimentary to the research in the present tokamaks. Unique capabilities of particular linear plasma devices allow them to treat specific issues of plasma-material interactions in ITER and future reactors. Several examples of this research are given. The prospects of the research in new devices are outlined.
