The Passing of Senator Pete Domenici

The American Nuclear Society and nuclear professionals across the country today mourn the passing of former New Mexico Senator Pete Domenici. He was for decades the Senate’s foremost authority on energy matters. He was a very strong advocate for nuclear energy, recognizing early the value and promise of nuclear energy in the United States and worldwide. His leadership and effective support for nuclear technology had a profound and beneficial impact for all Americans.
