House Committee Approves Nuclear Energy Bill
The House Committee on Science, Space and Technology approved the Nuclear Energy Innovation Capabilities Act (H.R. 4084) on January 12, 2016.
ANS has been an early supporter of this legislation as it will allow the national labs and private sector to partner to further develop reactor concepts to accelerate research and development of nuclear energy programs.
This bipartisan bill will reinforce the research and developments of U.S. engineers and leverage the Department of Energy’s tools and technology as more emphasis is put on advancing and implementing clean energy sources to reduce carbon emissions.
