President Bush today released the National Energy Policy report prepared by the National Energy Policy Development Group. In his presentation, President Bush stated the nation must conserve energy, diversify energy sources, and provide a comprehensive delivery system for electricity. Nuclear power was listed among the energy alternatives as a safe resource that does not polllute the air, is produced at a reasonable cost and emits no greenhouse gas. Bush stated that the U.S. Department of Energy and U.S. Environmental Protection Agency have been instructed to move forward to resolve the waste disposal issue.
