ANS scientific journal about fusion gets new name
Newly appointed editor, Dr. Nermin Uckan (Oak Ridge National Laboratory, Oak Ridge, TN) says of the new name, "[It] highlights the importance and need for the partnership and unification of the fusion science and technology communities, working toward the common goal of the development of fusion energy."
Fusion Science and Technology will publish original research and review papers on fusion plasma physics and plasma engineering, fusion nuclear technology and materials sciences, fusion plasma enabling science and technology, fusion applications, and fusion design and systems studies.
Fusion Science and Technology has the following Associate Editors: Dr. Yasuo Shimomura (Naka Fusion Research Establishment, Japan Atomic Energy Research Institute), Associate Editor, Asia; Dr. Robert Andreani (EFDA Close Support Unit-Garching, Max-Planck-Institut fuer Plasmaphysik, Germany), Associate Editor, Europe; and Dr. Englen Azizov (Troitsk Institute, Russia), Associate Editor, Russia.
Dr. George H. Miley (Univ. of IL, Urbana, IL), editor of Fusion Technology since its beginning in 1981, retires as editor effective June 2001. During his 20 year tenure, the journal has become the premier journal for the publication of research on fusion engineering and fusion technology.
The publication now has its administrative support office at ANS Headquarters in La Grange Park, IL.
