Andy Klein Named Editor of Nuclear Technology
Will assume position on June 1, 2014
Dr. Andy Klein of Oregon State University has been named the Editor-designate of Nuclear Technology, a publication of the American Nuclear Society (ANS). He will take over the position full-time in June 2015 after the retirement of current editor Nicholas Tsoulfanidis.
“Dr. Klein is a seasoned nuclear engineering professional with many years of experience in academia and with national labs,” said Yousry Azmy, Chair of the Technical Journals Committee at ANS. “Scientific publications are undergoing a major paradigm shift with the advent of open access governmental mandates. Dr. Klein is fully aware of this challenge and I believe he is well positioned to immediately join ongoing efforts in this regard.”
A longtime member of the American Nuclear Society (ANS), Dr. Klein served previously as an associate editor of Nuclear Technology and currently serves on the ANS Board of Directors. He joined the College of Engineering at Oregon State University in 1985. Dr. Klein received his Doctorate and Master’s degree in nuclear engineering from the University of Wisconsin, and prior to that received his bachelor’s degree in nuclear engineering from Pennsylvania State University.
