American Nuclear Society awards Presidential Citations
November 13, 2007 ANS Presidential Citations as follows:
Luis A. Reyes, Executive Director for Operations at the United States Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), was awarded this citation acknowledging his outstanding work and tireless commitment to improve the nuclear energy science and technology policies of the U.S.
Carol L. Berrigan, Director for Industry Infrastructure at the Nuclear Energy Institute (NEI), was awarded this citation acknowledging her enthusiasm and effective leadership in the formation of organizations that encourage commitment to nuclear science and technology by women and young professionals. As well as Berrigan's work to raise industry-wide awareness to the effectiveness of these groups in shaping nuclear's future.
The ANS Student Sections Committee, for reinvigorating the existence and health of student sections nationwide by institution the Certificate of Distinction for sections which meet performance standards, implementing Standard Bylaws, and selecting host sections for successful ANS student conferences.
The ANS Young Members Group, for leading the way in securing the future of industries related to nuclear science and technology by giving a voice to today's younger workers, thereby developing tomorrow's leaders.
The Center for Energy Workforce Development, for connecting all the critical links in the workforce chain, bringing together workers, educational institutions, industry and contractors to build a skilled workforce pipeline that will meet future industry needs.
