Political, environmental, financial and public opinion leaders to open ANS session
The opening session -- Talking About Nuclear Differently: A Critical Element for Our Future officially kicks off on Monday, November 14 at 8 a.m., will also include Ann Bisconti, public opinion researcher and former NRC commissioner James Asselstine.
Sen. Hagel is serving his second term in the U.S. Senate and is chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations International Economic Policy, Export and Trade Promotion Subcommittee and the Senate Banking Securities and Investment Subcommittee. He also serves as the Chairman of the Congressional-Executive Commission on China. Sen. Hagel will discuss the Energy Bill and its implications.
Dr. Patrick Moore, author of The Sensible Environmentalist has been a leader in the international environmental field for over 30 years. As a founding member of Greenpeace, Dr. Moore has focused recently on the promotion of sustainability and consensus building among competing concerns. Dr. Moore will speak on recent shifts in thinking from the environmental perspective.
Public opinion researcher Ann Bisconti will share data that reveals the mindset of the general public regarding nuclear energy and former NRC commissioner James Asselstine, now with Lehman Brothers, will discuss financial and economic factors affecting nuclear power generation.
