Cerro Grande Fire destroys homes and forest land

The recent fire in the Cerro Grande Forest has devastated the northern New Mexico residents. Many ANS members live in the Los Alamos area and have been personally affected by this enormous tragedy. To assist with rebuilding and relief to our friends, ANS will make a $15K contribution to the Los Alamos Fire Relief. The contribution will be made following the ANS Annual Meeting in San Diego, CA, June 4-8.

Members and others attending the Annual Meeting are invited to make their own contributions to the Fund. This may be done at the ANS Meeting Registration desk located in the Atlas Foyer of the Town & Country Hotel, San Diego, CA, beginning June 4.

In addition, local sections, student sections, and plant branches may give directly to the Los Alamos Fund or send a check payable to American Nuclear Society, earmarked for the Los Alamos Relef. The gift will be included with the Headquarters gift (with recognition to the section/branch).

Professional Divisions can prepare a disbursement request through the regular paper work process and forward the request to ANS headquarters. The contribution will be included in the ANS contribution and each division will be given proper credit for its contribution.

Contribution checks should be payable to the American Nuclear Society, identified for Los Alamos Fire Relief. Mail to the following.
