Connecting the world - Engineers Week February 20-26, 2005

ANS is proud to be a contributing society to Engineers Week, celebrated in February of each year. ANS members coordinate programs and activities at schools and public events to educate students and others about the important role played by engineers - particularly nuclear engineers - in our present and future well-being.

The ANS Outreach Department encourages its members to interact with the students of today who will be the engineers of tomorrow. Information packets are available to ANS sections, student sections, and plant branches. The materials in the packets will help nuclear professionals plan programs and activities that raise awareness of contributions of engineers and engineering in communities throughout the United States. Any member who would like to organize an event in his or her local community should contact the Outreach Department for additional information.

With a focus on the international and the future, Engineers Week 2005 will bring initiatives that celebrate the engineering community and share its positive message around the world. Returning for EWeek 2005 are many popular programs that will also underscore the profession's commitment to the world and the future. For more information visit www.eweek.org.
